Thus, strategic alliances with biotech companies as well as licensing technologies and securing patents from universities are all avenues that Merial presently pursues.

As a complement to Merial’s own Research and Development, Business Development manages the external opportunities with the potential of also bringing new products to Merial. The department coordinates a full spectrum of third party relations from licenses, partnerships, alliances and joint ventures to equity participation or acquisitions. Each opportunity is managed by a team including participation from all the relevant departments.

Ongoing new developments in animal health, evolving technologies and the development of new products are continuously creating new opportunities within the animal health industry. By actively screening these opportunities, Business Development assures that ideas, projects, and products are captured and assessed efficiently and effectively bringing positive outcomes for Merial and our Partners.
